SEAI Grant Support for
Home Energy Upgrades.

Pair your window and door upgrade with foam insulation, a heat pump, or solar through SEAI's One Stop Shop programme. Most pre-2011 Irish homes qualify.
Quick check

Most homes qualify if:

Your home was built before 2011
You're combining windows or doors with at least one other upgrade
The works improve your BER rating
The work is done by an SEAI-registered partner (Ecoplex is registered)

How the SEAI grant actually works

On their own, window and door upgrades aren't funded under SEAI's Better Energy Homes Scheme. Combine them with another upgrade like foam insulation, a heat pump, or solar PV, and they become part of a One Stop Shop home energy retrofit that does qualify for support.

The exact amount depends on the size of your home, the works involved, and the BER improvement. We walk you through the numbers during your free consultation, so you know exactly what you qualify for before you commit.

For more on the SEAI grant, see our FAQs or book a free consultation.

Three ways to qualify with windows and doors.

Pair your install with any one of the upgrades below and your project becomes part of an SEAI-eligible retrofit. You don't need all three.

Windows + Insulation

The strongest first move. Insulation tackles the biggest source of heat loss in older Irish homes, and pairs naturally with new glazing.

✓ Qualifies for SEAI support
Windows + Heat Pump

A retrofit-friendly pairing. New glazing reduces heat loss enough for a heat pump to run efficiently in a typical Dublin home.

✓ Qualifies for SEAI support
Windows + Solar

Covers a real share of your annual bill, especially when paired with a more airtight home that holds onto the heat you generate.

✓ Qualifies for SEAI support
The outcome
Bigger savings, a better BER, and you qualify for grant support. One team, one project.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of windows do you install?

We install A-rated double and triple glazed units in uPVC, aluminium, and composite frames. During your free consultation we help you choose the right spec based on your home’s age, orientation, and your priorities, whether that’s heat retention, noise reduction, security, or aesthetics.

Do new windows really cut my heating bill?

Yes. Older single-glazed and early double-glazed windows lose heat at a much higher rate than modern A-rated units. Replacing them is one of the most effective heat-loss upgrades you can make, and the savings continue every year you own the home.

How long does installation take?

Most full-house window replacements take 1 to 3 days. A single door is typically half a day. We give you a clear schedule before any work begins so you know what to expect.

Will my home be exposed during the work?

No. We remove and replace one opening at a time, so your home stays secure throughout the installation. If you’d prefer, we can also split the work across consecutive days.

Can I get an SEAI grant for windows and doors?

Windows and doors aren’t grant-funded as a standalone upgrade under SEAI’s Better Energy Homes Scheme. However, they can be included as part of a One Stop Shop home energy retrofit alongside insulation, heat pumps, or solar. We can walk you through what your home qualifies for during your free consultation.

What’s the difference between double and triple glazing?

Double glazing has two panes of glass with insulating gas between them. Triple glazing adds a third pane and offers better thermal and acoustic performance, especially useful for north-facing rooms, homes near busy roads, or anyone aiming for the highest BER rating. We’ll recommend what makes sense for your situation.

Do you install doors as well as windows?

Yes. We install front doors, back doors, patio doors, and French doors in composite, uPVC, and aluminium. All come with multipoint locking systems and energy-rated cores as standard.

Do I need to be home during installation?

Someone needs to be home for the start and end of each day, but you don’t need to stay on-site the whole time. The work is mostly external and we keep disruption to a minimum.

What happens to my old windows and doors?

We remove and dispose of them responsibly, recycling materials where possible. You don’t need to arrange anything separately.
